a-MAY-zing May

(Excuse the title. I am very aware how cheesy it is...!)

We've just finished a truly fantastic bunch of ceilidhs this month! May seems to be a really popular time for weddings; in years gone by it's always been rammed full of fantastic events, and this year certainly hasn't disappointed.

We had six beautiful weddings to play at, all of them at brilliant and special venues throughout the whole UK. We kicked things off in England with our 4-piece band out in force at Katie & Scott's wedding at Peckforton Castle. If you don't know this venue, I'd highly recommend taking a look - it's perhaps one of the most unique venues we've come across - we love the incredible dancing hall. Katie & Scott's crowd were mad-keen for the ceilidh, so we really enjoyed playing for them.

The very next day, we were further south to Wales to play at Rhiannon & Shaun's big day at St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club. What amazing dancing from Rhiannon & Shaun's guests! Literally the dance floor was packed all night, and we increased the length of the ceilidh as it was going down so well! Take a look at this wee showreel of us playing the ceilidh at their wedding.

After a few days of recovery, we were back up in Scotland for two more lovely weddings: first up was Duncan & Rachel's big day at Ardkinglas Estate. Now, they were extremely lucky with the weather, which really enhanced their day and allowed their guests to relax outside and catch some sun (and amazing views - check it out - only one cloud in the sky!)

Rachel & Duncan's crowd were a really great bunch of folks, and ceilidh'd all night long - really fantastic to play for them. Here's me calling a dance for them - what great energy!

It was so nice to be back at Killearn Village Hall again for PJ & Robyn's wedding - it's a venue that we know well, and it very well-suited for a ceilidh. PJ & Robyn had opted for a 4-piece band which really fitted the space well.

The following weekend, we were back at another fantastic wedding venue - this time, The Lodge on Loch Lomond. Natalie & Scott's wedding was a really great one, with enthusiastic dancing all night. They utilised our DJ set too for the last hour of the night, which kept their guests on their feet and dancing for the whole set. Aren't the decorations at The Lodge just smashing?!

The last wedding of this brilliant run of events was Cathy & Joe's wedding at The Byre at Inchyra, in Perthshire. Now, I've said it before, and I'll say it again - this venue is up there with the best of venues for a ceilidh (and I'm not just saying that because we're a recommended supplier there - honest!). It's so perfectly setup for weddings, with a great stage, sunken dance floor and brilliant lighting rig. I've even heard tales of people booking the venue before they've even got engaged, such is its popularity! Anyway, Cathy & Joe's wedding was just excellent: a packed dance floor of all-ceilidh for the whole set - what more could we want?!

So, now that May has wrapped-up, we're looking forward to June's weddings and events - we're going to be at Guardswell Farm (Perthshire), Springkell (Lockerbie), Brig o' Doon House (Ayr), DoubleTree Docklands (London), and Balbirnie House (Fife) over the next few weeks - keep checking back here to get the updates, or on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
